I am sure you all have seen those old dusty and dirty wooden toolboxes a time or two…and just walked on by! When I first started my junkin adventure I did too….not anymore though! I am always scoping the aisles of my fave thrift stores and garage sales for the priceless one of a kind gems. The old worn wood and the sometimes dirty finish calls my name begging for makeover! I wonder what purpose they served and for whom and in my mind it’s always someone who resembles my grandfather. He was forever tinkering away in his workshop and had a plethora of these old boxes filled with all sorts of tools and other thing-a-ma-jig’s…I guess there is a part of me that feels close to him when I find these old boxes. To toss them away feels like throwing out a piece of history of someone’s life, so instead I scoop them up and transform them into beautiful one of a kind creations that can be treasured for generations to come!
You can head over to Facebook and watch the LIVE DIY of how I transformed this one here…I used some nautical rope to cover up a busted handle and then dry brushed some white paint all over and then added on some decorative accents and of course some BLING from Totally Dazzled (get your own BLING up top in the BLING tab). This piece can serve so many purposes from storage in your crafting space, centerpieces with some florals, wine caddy, silverware and napkin caddy or even makeup storage. The possibilities are endless!
Check out the amazing before and after of my latest one plus I added a few pics of some I did a few years back as well! Happy hunting and creating sparkle chicks!

I am on the look out for me one. My husband has one and I asked him if I could have it and he said no it was my Daddy’s and it is too big for me to even handle.. So I am still on the search..

Still looking for one. Husband wouldn’t let me have his because it is too big and was his daddy’s.
