Create your very own Halloween Skeleton Mirror with this easy and fun DIY! You will delight your friends and family with this spooktacular creation!

what you need:
First thing you are goin to need to create your skeleton mirror is any mirror of your choosing! I picked this pretty gold last year from Hobby Lobby https://www.hobbylobby.com/Home-Decor-Frames/Mirrors-Wall-Decor/Wall-Mirrors/Antique-Gold-Wall-Mirror/p/38775 and gave it a light coat of Matte White Acrylic Paint. To get the mirror looking old and grungy I applied a light coat of Matte Medium Mod Podge to the entire mirror and let it dry.
Once I was done with that I wanted to give my Halloween Skeleton Mirror a grungy dirty look like it just came out of a Haunted House so I went over the entire frame and glass with Dixie Belle Brown Wax https://www.charlottegray.store/product/best-dang-wax/427?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=true. Once applied simply wipe off until you get your desired look. For a deeper darker look apply heavier and don’t wipe off!
For the skeleton I found a decent size one and Michel’s Craft Store https://www.michaels.com/3ft-skeleton-by-ashland/10661620.html and simply unscrewed the legs from the body. I then had to cut part of the center spine away just under the rib cage by simply using a sharp knife or tiny hand saw.
I needed a base for the skeleton to sit on the mirror because I wanted it to appear to be coming through the mirror so I opted for an oblong shallow silver dish I had in my stash! I painted the tray in the same color scheme as the mirror for a matching color scheme effect. You just need to make sure there is something solid for the skeleton to attach to. I used hot glue to attach the skeleton to the tray and glued the tray to bottom center of mirror.

embellishment overload
Once the “bones” of your project is complete and the skeleton is secured, the fun begins with all the embellishments! I added gold rub n buff https://www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-Hobbies/Stencils-Craft-Paints/Leafing/Antique-Gold-Rub’n-Buff/p/1415along the details of the mirror and then covered the entire skeleton with my fave Diamond Dust https://amzn.to/2XwXmcF. I then added on some large bling from Totally Dazzled https://bit.ly/2V2mOSM to cover the cut under the rib cage. I found the Witch’s Hat at Michaels last year https://www.michaels.com/assorted-witch-hat-with-feather-by-ashland/10669709.html and hot glued that to the top of the head. I added a few other ghoulie embellishments to the top of the frame as well and will link them below. You can really have fun with this and add as much or as little as you like!
