This Lady Luck Vintage Tray Makeover DIY I did on my weekly segment over on the https://www.facebook.com/TotallyDazzledBiz facebook page! You can find me there every Wednesday at 12:00 pm EST!
How to:
I opted to apply this gorgeous rice paper from Decoupage Queen (size A3) https://decoupagequeen.com/paper-designs-scene-0067/ onto a vintage rectangular tray from the Goodwill! Our theme for that week was St. Patty’s Day and we needed to use the shamrock bling. I loved the bright bits of green throughout this print so I went for it and named her Lady Luck!

To start I painted the bottom of the tray white with an acrylic matte paint. You want to do this so the image is bright and vibrant! I used Posh Chalk Infusor from Wood U Bend https://woodubend.us.com/ref/RoyaleFunkyJunque/ as my decoupage medium and it works awesome!

Measure out the paper to the dimension of your project and then apply a coat of the infusor and lay your paper down. After you have it attached, do another coat of the infusor on top of the paper to seal the paper down!
To cover up the silver sides remaining I made my fave concoction of black acrylic paint mixed with a copper metallic for a stunning oil rubbed bronze finish. I brushed it on right up to the edge of the paper and all over the remaining silver sides and handles.

To blend that color into the print I misted the oil rubbed bronze paint with some water while it was still wet. Taking a big fluffy blending brush I used circular motions to blend the paint out for a soft look. Once that was dried I highlighted the outside decorative edge of the tray with Antique Gold Rub n Buff https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079Q9B9FX?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzroyalefu-20&creativeASIN=B079Q9B9FX&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.3UEB32O1MQKSA&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_d_asin
finishing touches
To add in my signature sparkle and flair I added in some feathers. I got them at Michaels and for this project I chose the peacock pick here https://www.michaels.com/product/chocolate-peacock-feather-pick-by-ashland-10677446. Using scissors I cut each feather and placed it around the feathers of the print. I then added on the Totally Dazzled shamrock bing. I decided to add in a second bunch of feathers below her neck and secured those with a round green piece of bling also from Totally Dazzled from their colored collection!

And to top it all off I decorated the outside edge of the tray and handles with two different colored green stones from the Totally Dazzled Ultimate Rhinestone Applicator Kit! https://bit.ly/2V2mOSM. It comes with everything you need to attach those tiny gems but it sure does pack some serious sparkle to your creation!
