it’s about time
This Sparkle Bling Christmas Tree was something I had been forever staring at on Pinterest and I finally decided to get off my dupa and make one! It’s rather simple to make but does take a little bit of time, patience and a whole lot of bling!

I purchased the white styrofoam cone from Michael’s Craft Store! They have different sizes but you know me….I went BIG! Here is what you need to get started:
supplies:
- Styrofoam cone – I chose this one in white but they do come in a variety of colors and you can even wrap them in fabric, paint or glitter! https://www.michaels.com/floracraft-white-craft-cone/M10213118.html?dwvar_M10213118_size=3.7%22%20x%208.9%22&dwvar_M10213118_color=White
- Totally Dazzled Appliques and Bling (at least 2 of the 100 packs) depending on the size of your cone https://bit.ly/2V2mOSM
- I did also use some rhinestone trim from Amazon that I had and you can find that particular one here https://amzn.to/3Xi1LdP
- Hot Glue – Lots and Lots of it
- Filler – I used small round pearls to fill in the empty spaces – https://amzn.to/3EpyDZj

lets get started
I opted to leave the cone as I bought it….I knew I wanted it 100% filled with bling so I didn’t paint or wrap the cone! However this is where you can do your own thing and make it any way you want! Some suggested wrapping in black velvet (which would be gorgeous) or even a red velvet, diamond dust, glitter etc. There is really now right or wrong way – you do you!!!
I started by taking the trim I had from Amazon http://amzn.to/3Xi1LdP and wrapping it around one time at the bottom of the cone. The rhinestone trim is easy to cut using scissors or a utility knife! I used hot glue to attach to the cone, and yes styrofoam and hot glue tend to be tricky but you are the master of your craft so be patient and trust the process! Once the glue dries it’s secure and isn’t going anywhere!
To keep it even I added that same bling trim up the cone at even intervals all the way to the top!

For the larger blank spaces in between I added large appliques from Totally Dazzled https://bit.ly/2V2mOSM. They have many to choose from in lots of colors from silver, gold, antique bronze and even rose gold. Your options are truly endless!
The Totally Dazzled appliques come with a strong 3M sticky tape on the back of the applique so no hot glue was needed for these pieces which was a great thing! I simply peeled off the back and attached them on where I wanted them!

filling it in
Now that I had the appliques where I wanted them I began by taking large pieces of Totally Dazzled bling https://bit.ly/2V2mOSM and filling it in! Some had brooch clips on the back and I simply removed the with a pair of wire cutters and using hot glue applied them in everywhere! It’s alot like putting a puzzle together and finding the right gem in the right place! This is also the time consuming part but the end result is well worth the time it took to put it all together!
Once the majority of the cone was covered I started adding smaller pieces of bling to fill it all in and make it completely covered!

Voila
Once the entire cone was covered in bling there will be some smaller spaces that need filled in and for that I used pearl vase filler beads. I got them from Amazon https://amzn.to/3EpyDZj and I took the smaller sized ones and simply hot glued them in wherever I saw a dead empty space. For the top of the cone I chose an extra large Totally Dazzled bling and pressed it down into the top of the cone and reinforced it with some hot glue! I did add one to the backside as well because I am putting this on a spinner base and wanted the entire view to be filled with sparkle!

Here is the spinner base I purchased on Amazon https://amzn.to/3UUqfbk to display my sparkle bling Christmas tree! I hope y’all have fun in making your own! You can even use vintage jewelry and or family heirlooms to decorate your own bling tree with for a wonderful sentiment!
