Trash to treasure diy
Hey sparklers! Another Trash to Treasure is in the books with this beautiful Victorian Tray DIY I madeover yesterday on Totally Dazzled’s page. If you missed it you can watch it here – https://www.facebook.com/TotallyDazzledBiz/videos/2048585032017698. or scroll below to see the final result!
I started with a smaller oval silver tray bowl and painted the entire tray white using chalk paint from FolkArt, and did have to give it two coats.

I got the cherub print from Decoupage Queen – you can find this and many others to choose from here – https://decoupagequeen.com?aff=3. This cherub is Paper Designs Rice Paper Cherub Ephemera Collage PD SCENES 0126.

I applied the paper with PoshChalk Infusor from Wood U Bend https://woodubend.us.com/ref/RoyaleFunkyJunque/. It is my new fave decoupage medium and works like a charm! Next up from Wood U Bend I added beautiful stripes using Posh Chalk’s Metallic Paste in the color Rose Gold. You can add water to the paste to make it a paint and even more water to make it a wash! Make sure to have an even number of stripes when painting any project! The great thing about this paste is if you apply heat to it, it will bubble up! Super cool and fun feature and I had fun experimenting with it! Once the stripes were on I gave the entire piece a coat of wax from Behr. You can find these at the Home Depot. I mix together clear and antique dark. https://www.homedepot.com/p/BEHR-PREMIUM-8-oz-Clear-Interior-Chalk-Decorative-Wax-714016/305936939 and https://www.homedepot.com/p/BEHR-PREMIUM-8-oz-Dark-Interior-Chalk-Decorative-Wax-716016/305936955

Once the wax was applied I added liquid gold https://www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-Hobbies/Stencils-Craft-Paints/Leafing/Classic-Gold-Liquid-Leaf/p/5872 to the edges of each stripe as well as all the way around the beautiful trim. I then added some pearls around the image on the inside of the tray using hot glue!

epoxy
I love epoxy! Lately I have been doing this to all my tray makeovers and love the result! I use Envirotex from Hobby Lobby https://www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-Hobbies/Stencils-Craft-Paints/Mediums-Finishes/Envirotex-Lite-Pour-On-High-Gloss-Finish/p/1419. It has no smell and is food safe. Make sure to wear gloves and follow the instructions on the box! I applied the epoxy to just the bottom of the tray and then added on two heart embellishments from the Totally Dazzled Valentines Packs https://bit.ly/2V2mOSM. I simply laid them right on top of the epoxy and once fully dry they will be permanently stuck on there!
Finished result

Let the tray sit overnight and make sure to cover it with a box! We don’t want dust and debris stick to the epoxy.
Leave a little sparkle today,
