There is no secret that our home has a Western vibe to it and these Western Bar Stools are no different …my husband is an avid John Wayne fanatic and when I moved in here after we got engaged a few years ago I definitely wanted to keep his love of all things Cowboy a priority but also wanting to add in my own love of all things glam and sparkly! So Western Glam became a thing here…and I am loving it!
I purchased these 3 counter height bar stools a few months from Home Goods and although they are pretty just as they are I wanted to give them some Western flair that fits better with the theme of our home.
A while back browsing through Hobby Lobby I spotted these lightweight wood stars and thought BAM…those will be perfect on the new bar stools! So I got them home and gave them a once over with some dark walnut wood stain and then roughed up the corners with a sanding block. Instead of adding BLING to the center of the star I opted for the top of a brass tack (I just got the shank off) and glued the top of the tack to the center of the star. The tack ties in with the brass studs that go along the front sides of the chairs.
now we have western bar stools:
To attach the stars to the back of the chair I used E6000 glue along with some hot glue and centered the star to the center of the back of each chair! I absolutely love how they turned out and I even gave a coat of the dark walnut stain to the chairs legs to tie it all in together!! I couldn’t be happier with the results of my one of a kind Western Bar Stools!
Let me know what ya’ll think in the comments…I would love to hear from you!!!
