Western Theme Storage Box DIY

Western Theme Storage Box DIY

You’ll need:

  • Hot Glue (Get it HERE) & Hot Glue Gun
  • E6000 Glue
  • Jute Twine
  • Bling (I got mine at Hobby Lobby)
  • Hobby Lobby Sign
  • Hobby Lobby Wood Box

When I found this rustic cowboy style sign at Hobby Lobby I knew I had the perfect spot in my house for it. If you have been to one of my recent lives then you probably heard me talk about updating my laundry room. My Husband loves the vintage cowboy style so I definitely wanted to incorporate that in the design. I am going to be taking lots of pictures and clips during that process, so that you all can come along on that journey with me!

Firstly with this particular sign I removed the hanging hardware from the back. I also trimmed a little bit of the “barbwire” off the ends.

Next take your jute twine and your hot glue and glue down the end to the back of your sign. I chose to wrap the twine three times, on each side, for my desired look. Choose what works for you. Remember to glue the twine down as you go. Finally snip off the excess and glue it down.

For this next step, take your wooden box and sign and align them up to ensure proper . On the back of your sign liberally apply your E6000 glue all over. This glue takes awhile to setup but creates a very strong bond once it does. To help adhere your sign during the E6000 curing time, apply hot glue to the front face of your wooden box. Don’t be afraid to use lots. Finally you will put both sign and box together and press them firmly together for at least 60 seconds. This allows the hot glue to cool and stick.

Now, you all know I have to sparkle it up. This time I am going to add just a subtle touch of bling. I purchased these sparkle pieces from Hobby Lobby. Take the pieces you want to use and simply glue them down with your hot glue.

I had so much fun creating this quick little project with you, thanks for dropping by! Catch me create live over on FACEBOOK!
