Easter is so close So I wanted to be sure my house was welcoming spring with some flair. This week we created this adorable Easter Bunny. If you missed the live you can catch it HERE.
Let’s get creating your very own Easter Bunny Décor.
YOU’LL NEED:
- Large Bunny Cutout (Hobby Lobby)
- Prima Floral Transfers (Get it HERE)
- Diamond Pattern Stencil (Get it HERE)
- Dark Wax Bher (Get it HERE)
- Diamond Dust (Get it HERE)
- Mod Podge
- Heat Gun or Hair Dryer (Get it HERE)
- Hot Glue (Get it HERE) & Hot Glue Gun
- Black Paint
- Paint Brushes including: a brush for stippling paint and a wax brush
- Dazzled Bling (Get yours HERE)
- Sanding Block

Let’s get started
Begin by taking your stencil and placing it on your bunny. Next take your black paint and stencil brush and begin tapping/pouncing the black paint over top the stencil. We added the check to the entire bunny.
Make sure to not have your paint too heavy on the brush to prevent bleed through.

Distress it
Begin by taking your sanding sponge and distressing your check pattern all over. This will give it an aged worn look.

Seal that paint
Begin by taking your Mod Podge and cover all the painted area. Doing this will seal your paint but also protect it from pulling back up when you apply your transfers.
Finally, take your heat gun and dry thoroughly.

Transfer it
Start by takin your transfers and measuring them to where you would like to place them. Next, cut the transfers out. and place them where you would like them on your piece.
Press the transfer firmly onto your piece, use a brandishing tool to get a good adhesion. Gently remove the transfer paper from your image.
Continue this process until you have all the transfers on that you would like.

Add the Bow
Use your hot glue to re-attach the bow back to your bunny.

Adding those extra touches
Start by adding Mod podge over your whole piece to seal your transfers, then dry. Next, add your bling, I used Dazzled Bling for buttons, the bow and a crown on the top. Stick them on using your hot glue.
Next, take your dark wax and follow along the side of your cutout to age it, you do not have to wipe it back.
Finally take your Mod Podge cover your flowers then sprinkle on your diamond dust.

This was such a fun project to make with you all. I absolutely would love to see your take on this project. Don’t forget to tag me so I can see your beautiful creations.
See you again soon!
